Japanese EmmerdalePosted on 2003/05/15 19:42:26 (May 2003) by john. What will they think of next?
I don't habitually watch any soaps. However, in what I can only assume to be a direct attempt by the producers to get me to watch Emmerdale, they seem to have taken the perhaps unexpected step of introducing a Japanese character.
I don't know her name, or how her character has come into the soap, but I did manage at least to get a picture of her in the Woolpack (or whatever it's called). She was speaking Japanese and everything. Very odd.
I'm not sure if it's her particular style of acting, but the actress in question really does seem like she's just wandered onto the set by accident.

Brings a whole new meaning to the term Japanese Tourist eh?

It is weird, the more I look at that picture, the more I think she looks a bit familiar. I wonder if Chie knows her perhaps...?

The tops of those beer pumps look like nipples ... *snigger*
You almost fooled us into thinking that you don't religiously watch The Emmerdale. Almost! "the Woolpack (or whatever it's called)..." Bah! Who are you trying to kid! I bet you know the Woolpack, Betty and all of Eric Pollard's nefarious schemes!

You've just fallen into your own carefully laid trap there Russ. Who on earth is Eric Pollard? Surely only a regular viewer would have heard of him...?

SOAP =
Simple: Most of UK Public. Object: What the men do when the footy gets turned off in favour of DeadEnders. Access: Press "ON" on remote. Protocol: (Death, Violence, Affair, Teenage Pregnancy, Long Lost Sister, Random Japanese Girl) => Cliffhanger.

Nahhhh ... I'm afraid you've lost me there, mate (especially the bit about protocol). An I thought *I* was talking gibberish!

Yes it did go a bit down hill there. Sadly today it looks like Tomiko left Emmerdale. I'll probably stop watching it then.
