Long SentencesPosted on 2003/07/10 09:30:36 (July 2003) by john. I thought I had a problem!
Whilst waiting for a service pack to download just now, I was idly browsing dabs.com, looking in the flatscreen section. Upon clicking on the first one I found (made by Acer I think), I discovered this real monster of a sentence:
Enter into the world of LCD technology with the generous features of the AL511s which enhances the standard office desktop workplace fulfilling the needs of office workers or professionals working in the creative industry enjoying the outstanding performance of a modern TFT Display for a guaranteed return on investment.
...and relax. Just try reading that outloud! I counted at least eight subclauses there!
Incidentally, TFT screens still seem like too much money - I'm currently using a very modest (but faithful) 14" CRT, it's not up to much. To really see any substantial improvement, I'd probably want to go for a 17" flatscreen, which is going to cost me at least 300 quid it seems. This may however be a necessary expense - I think I might go blind before I finish my thesis at this rate.
