Completely understood Nigel - you do have a somewhat rare (and rather wonderful if I may add!) surname. I on the other hand have a very common name, so I guess it's much easier for me to blame my public rants on someone else!

OK
Nigel apologises to all!!
Back on Twitter as "nigel_returns". If I may I'll start following my friends again...
(Tantrums! Who'd have them?!?!?)

Hi Lox. Yes, as I said below, I wouldn't mind at all if "nigelka" was what they were propagating, but the fact it's my real name from my profile annoyed me!
I'll try and set up an annonymous account to see if that's more use...

Nigel: If that was a fantasy RPG and you were a demon or a devil, hiding your true name would prevent you from being controlled. But in RL... Having said that I respect the decision of course, but where can we read about you now?

PS - Rob - I guess I should remember the famous film tag-line "In Space No-one Can Hear You Scream" :-D

Thanks guys.
Liked that line, Rob!! :-D
Yes, I'm no shrinking violet but I spent some time doing searches and I was EveryWhere!!!! Some sites just my name in 48-point and my last Tweet!! My problem is maybe a bit (slightly!) unique in that my name is pretty much mine and mine alone. I belong to loads of sites but they do at least seem to have a vague privacy policy. For example I don't pop up in Flickr but loads of people can easily see my photos...
Even the dreaded Facebook lets me pull a veil across (since I went back, sorry John, under pressure... ;-))) . I tried the Twitter tick-boxes but no joy.
The annoying irony is that my Twitter username - nigelka - was fine but Twitter releases my real name to search engines.
That's what finally got my goat, I think...
I could rejoin and try to hide my real, unique name...
Maybe I'll give that a go and let you know... :-))

Nigel: Sorry to see you leave Twitter.

Nigel: ...but all of that data was already public on Twitter, which probably appears above all the other search results. I don't see the difference that it has also been syndicated to other sites...?

Much better to be shouting in the void.

Well that was the end of a fine era. Bye-bye Twitter!
Why?
Google youeself and see how many times everything you see is picked-up on and broadcast through a myriad sites (of no real use)
My ego doesn't need this much exposure!! :-D
