Just thought that these booties are chunkier than any part of my body. I thought I'd share that with you all!

Johnny, me ole mukka, your monkeys are infinitely cooler than so-flat-he-could-be-dutch-eric. Just been shopping. Bought 100 paand boots called New Rock. very metal. Very cool. Now suffering from "new shoes I don't want to take off, can I sleep in 'em?" syndrome. Johnny Boy, midday at the Jubilee line exit of Waterloo station. Luncheoning at 'The Union Jack Club' and then onto the Royal Air Force club for dinner. I'll phone to confirm too!

Just noticed Hotel California Simon (no speakers on PC at university).... Bloody hilarious! What is it about midi that can turn otherwise reasonable music into pure cheese?
John
- Sat Mar 31 14:40:31 2001

You've all gone home haven't you. Fuck it.
John
- Fri Mar 30 17:53:51 2001

Maybe he ought to change his first name to Genghis, it has kind of a ring to it don't you think.
John
- Fri Mar 30 17:53:34 2001

Wouldn't it be cool if there was a little map on this site somewhere, charting Al Hall's progress around the world with a little black dot, and a load of little red dots marking the trail of destruction he leaves behind him.
John
- Fri Mar 30 16:44:32 2001

Although I actually quite liked Flat Eric, yes, he was totally faddish, and therefore now appropriately flat. I am, however, in joint posession of two monkeys which are far cooler than Flat Eric.
John
- Fri Mar 30 16:17:26 2001

Nice, I definately agree
Simon
- Fri Mar 30 14:57:08 2001

Yeah, I think Flat Eric is appropriately named. I bet all the other hand-puppets take the piss out of him. A passing fad, and very, very flat.
Rob Lang <r.i.w.lang@rdg.ac.uk>
MADLAB, Reading - Fri Mar 30 14:42:31 2001

I ask again, is Flat Eric appropriately named?
Simon

Can I suggest that you get one down you.

Do you think Flat Eric is appropriately named?
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 17:26:37 2001

I just clicked the add message button if that helps....
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 17:17:08 2001

OH FUCKING HELL I'M BORED! SOMEBODY BLOODY DO SOMETHING!
John
- Thu Mar 29 17:07:39 2001

I think any site that uses "olde wurlde" style writing in its title (or for that matter, anywhere else) should instantly be destroyed.
John
- Thu Mar 29 17:07:00 2001

Yeah, thats pretty damn flat.
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 17:00:59 2001

If anyone wants an example of almost painful flatness, may I recommend long-eaton.com, one of those irritating 'community' websites.
John
- Thu Mar 29 16:53:16 2001

It must be your proxy or sommat......we use Insight for our supplies here and they supplied us with those edible packing chips!
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 16:52:40 2001

This is another cruel mind game isn't it...?
What are you hiding from me?
John
- Thu Mar 29 16:50:41 2001

Can ya see that?
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 16:43:39 2001

Simon
- Thu Mar 29 16:43:01 2001

...and I've only been trying for 6 months, so in fact I've never actually got there ever. I'm beginning to wonder if its all a big joke and you're all in on it! Admit it!
John
- Thu Mar 29 16:34:30 2001

What can you actually get to insight right now? I've never once successfully visited that site in the last 6 months. Maybe it is blocked by my proxy server or something... Seems a bit odd - no other sites are that I know of...
John
- Thu Mar 29 16:33:28 2001

Doh! That'll teach me to forget my http://'s
Graf <graf@altavista.net>
- Thu Mar 29 16:31:46 2001

I've bought stuff from them in the past, without any particular problems. Obviously they aren't as good as the almighty scan though.
Graf <graf@altavista.net>
- Thu Mar 29 16:30:39 2001

At least once a week I get an email from insight.com, with offers for cheap PCs and stuff, and some of the offers actually look quite reasonable, so I sometimes think I'll go and look at their site, and every single bloody time its always, always down. Is this some kind of scam? Or is this just a company that hasn't got a clue?
John
- Thu Mar 29 16:03:14 2001

Typical. And flat.
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 14:54:29 2001

As standard, just as I was about to leave, some students turned up. Oh well.
John
- Thu Mar 29 13:55:27 2001

About now I reckon
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 13:25:17 2001

It should have started at 1... how long should I wait for before giving up...?
John
- Thu Mar 29 13:21:44 2001

I'm actually supposed to be teaching at the moment, but am suffering a slight technical hitch - none of the students have turned up. If only I was still an undergraduate - such events would be nothing other than a singing endorsement for an afternoon down the pub. Alas, I have no-one to go with... sob...
John
- Thu Mar 29 13:19:32 2001

I would imagine this would be quite likely...drop him an SMS...he doesn't seem to be on email at the mo but should have his phone....
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 13:17:47 2001

Would pops be interested in another random curry escapade this very evening do you think?
John
- Thu Mar 29 13:15:43 2001

D'Oh!
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 13:13:58 2001

Yep the bus. Amazingly there is a bus route in London which starts about a minute's walk from my flat, and ends outside the building where I work. Can you believe it? Unfortunately, nice though that is, its slow as fuck.
John
- Thu Mar 29 13:12:23 2001

If you couldn't use the tube, was it buses? Why were they so slow? Overcrowding? Or was it on Camelback?
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 13:08:54 2001

Oddly, Popz is in London again....
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 12:59:12 2001

BTW, you are never going to believe me, but the hahaha was aimed at the Midi Music response and not your tube problem, which hadn't appeared when I submitted it Believability Factor?
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 12:57:21 2001

Who you laughing at Watson boy?
John
- Thu Mar 29 12:56:29 2001

Hahahahaha!
Simon
- Thu Mar 29 12:55:26 2001

Tube strikes today, took me two hours to get in - it would have been quicker to come from Reading. Amazingly though I'm not in too bad a mood.
John
- Thu Mar 29 12:53:17 2001

The trick is to go into the mixer thingy and turn down midi to 0 volume (on the basis that all midi stuff is annoying and crap)...
Graf <graf@altavista.net>
- Thu Mar 29 11:51:30 2001

So, how can we stop the damn music?
Rob Lang <icar@icar.co.uk>
MADLAB, Reading - Thu Mar 29 11:38:51 2001

Szia!
Simon
- Wed Mar 28 13:31:49 2001

Jon, we should meet up next time I visit Popz in Swindon
Simon
- Wed Mar 28 13:25:50 2001

Rob, just imagine playing that Radstock Quake level of yours with this supermarket music.....the source of it would have to be something destructable, or perhaps only playing in the bathroom when someone drowns you....
Simon
- Wed Mar 28 13:23:44 2001

Nice, Jon nice....I was wondering when someone would notice the supermarket midi music.....it wasn't added for it's quality!!
Simon

I've been on this board for a full 'alf hour and it still hasn't given me any.
Jon E
- Wed Mar 28 11:42:01 2001

Tom,

Why do you need a laptop with built in firewire? Is that so you can record your own gay porn? Heh? I'm waiting for your answer gay boy. Will you download 20 Gigabytes of gay pictures on it? Do you show them to your gay friends at your gay club?

Jon E
- Wed Mar 28 11:40:41 2001

Rob, that was a bit harsh. But also very true.
Jon E
- Wed Mar 28 11:35:27 2001

While we're at it, what's with the hotel california theme? It's perhaps the worst piece of MIDI I have ever heard.
Rob Lang <icar@icar.co.uk>
MADLAB, Reading - Wed Mar 28 11:28:21 2001

I'd never swap my soul or my life for a laptop, no matter who light it was. If I had to, I would then keep my mouth shut about it as other people would think I was bragging. I'd immediately look like a complete twat. Yup, glad I don't have a laptop.

Tim: remember tomorrow to use your last day at your job wisely. Make plenty of subtle, jokey, yet damming and hurtful remarks to all the people you don't like so much.
P.S. Is a wotsits and alcopops night the new cheese and wine evening?
John

Yea, the future is in the snack food / IT sector. I am considering a move into interactive cheese.

Three things to report:

1) We are PISSED. We have aquired a cocktail shaker and 100 quids worth of spirits :0)
2) I have a new laptop. A nice 2 grand Sony thing.
3) Even Johns ravings are not as bad as: http://rinkworks.com/ithink/thoughts1.shtml

Huh?! I'm sure I didn't post that least message!
John

Maybe early May then, and you can tell me all about Japan!
John
- Tue Mar 20 15:22:09 2001

Oh never mind. On an unrelated note it appears to be snowing.
John
- Tue Mar 20 14:57:51 2001

Erm, nope... Why? I just thought it had a nice name. It's mentioned in a kirsty maccoll song too (belsize park rather than the tube station). Would it tarnish my mental image if i actually went there then?
Graf <graf@altavista.net>

Hash browns? Potato wedges? Sauteed potato cubes?
John

Hmmm... its a tricky one. One of my most favouritest foods at the moment is parmesan, but its not that because its something that can be enjoyed over and over again, parmesan gets a bit sickly after a while... Quite possibly roast potatoes, but a bit more funky and less English somehow... Erm.

Loads of pictures, nice. Something of a shooting spree, (no terrorism puns intended about that weekend). The only time I had charge of the camera produced a blurry picture, wheres my paintbrush? (For this obscure reference please see my site!) The fleece: I am actually frequently caught wearing this staple item of outdoor wear, but it is winter! Oh and by the way nice site. Having little work net access I'm afraid I can't keep up with 'the board'.

It is indeed actually wall hung now - the engineer came round on Monday and its all fixed - hot water, heating and everything. These are luxuries I don't really feel like I deserve!
John
- Fri Mar 9 13:02:28 2001

Two plumbers are currently repairing my leaking boiler. How is your Boiler getting on John? Still wall hung?

John

Very nice Sirs... Especially the pics... (btw, it was the Moon & Sixpence, and it was Oxford Street later on, not Picadilly Circus)...but why let facts spoil a good page? The rats in the cellar, you know who you are...or do you?

For bonus points, see if you can find tom's domain that contains the phrase "This page is under construnction"
Graf <graf@altavista.net>

Tom, how come whenever you post an image it is from a different domain? How many websites do you have? And how many of them do you actually need?
John

Cool.. glad u liked it :-)

Yes Simon, it was indeed quite not flat.
John
- Mon Mar 5 12:25:13 2001

I'm going to be a professional, paid web designer. Nil-flatness there.

Ok Simon - have a good trip!
John
- Fri Mar 2 17:30:54 2001

See you tommorrow John, will give you a ring when we are nearing London, should be about 11:40 tommorrow.
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 17:17:47 2001

Nope, this cheese is definitely not flat.
John
- Fri Mar 2 17:04:36 2001

Sounds odd, but nice, and not flat.
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 16:58:54 2001

I've just bought some cheese on-line. Nice.
John
- Fri Mar 2 16:58:00 2001

Nice Simon... NICE!
John
- Fri Mar 2 16:41:23 2001

Simon
- Fri Mar 2 16:26:48 2001

Its a definate eating in situation then. NICE!!
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 16:19:57 2001

Wine... required... NOW...
John
- Fri Mar 2 16:15:05 2001

Yea getting wine out is also so expensive don't you think? You usually pay about three times the shop price in a restaurant and the selection isn't normally as good. Plus at John's restaruant, bar and hotel there is no closing time...
John
- Fri Mar 2 16:13:32 2001

Is this a reason to eat in do you think......or not?
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 16:03:37 2001

Eating in would greatly increase availability of wine - we could get quite unmanageable.
John
- Fri Mar 2 15:58:46 2001

Its up to you really (since your kitchen and that)...I don't mind either way as long as a) Its not really expensive. b) There is loads of wine. We could either do a supermarket attack and get loads of nice stuff, or just find somewhere out
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 14:59:10 2001

Simon - tomorrow night would you prefer to eat in or out? Mmmmmmmm large amounts of wiiiiiine...
John
- Fri Mar 2 14:25:28 2001

Holland - its a bit flat.
The Dutch Tourist Board
- Fri Mar 2 14:15:39 2001

Sounds a bit flat.
John
- Fri Mar 2 14:14:03 2001

I am going to start trying to (over)use this phrase, which in itself is a bit flat.
Simon
- Fri Mar 2 14:05:41 2001

Rob: I like your bit of the page, and agree with deviating from the normal maison design - it is starting to look a bit flat.
John
- Fri Mar 2 12:57:38 2001

For lunch I am mostly eating a bagel with mozzarella and tomato, it is ok, but a bit flat.
John
- Fri Mar 2 12:54:52 2001

Oddly flat has become my favourite new word, but as a criticism, i.e. yea, its OK, but its a bit flat.
John
- Fri Mar 2 12:54:04 2001

Magic John, Magic John has a flat in London Magic John, Magic John going to see him tommorrow!

Cheers Jon, ole son. I hope you like the new site I stuck on my bit. I've sort of ignored the whole Maison De Stuff design. A bit. I almost have some more stuff to add to it.
