The blob thingy is a cut down version of a Plastic Self-Organising Map, my PhD invention thingy. When you do a mouse over a link, it gives the network an input. The network then grows to learn your mouseover. If you go back over that link a lot, then the network will learn that link a little better while forgetting all the others. It's a bit frivolous for this application as there is no output, it just looks pretty. I might do something about getting some sort of feedback to the user. The way in which they are displayed was inspired from your doodles, Tim. The design is totally new, so if you didn't see the blue one, it's now dead. I prefer this semi-retro one I have now.
