So let me get this straight - me, Tom and Rob are all going on (separate) stag dos this weekend...? What are the chances of that?
John
- Fri May 28 17:06:52 2004
Ta John! Off on Fish's stag this weekend!!! Everyone's getting bloody married! AAAARGH! Nice to hear about Dale. Not surprised that it came through the little panda channel of info.
Rob Lang
- Fri May 28 16:58:19 2004
For those of you who know Dale (just Rob I imagine) I have just heard him and Erina had a baby girl last week. Don't know her name or anything yet.
John
- Fri May 28 14:05:17 2004
Hmmm Rob maybe Tom has already gone off on his stag do...? Might need to try phoning him or something then...
John

Monday night is looking good for me, if I can interlope on your meeting!

Funnily enough I have a stag do to attend this weekend too! Yep I think Monday ought to be good - it's a bank holiday, right?
John
- Thu May 27 13:31:10 2004
I am out tonight and away on a stag do until Sunday evening. WHat about Monday?
tom
- Thu May 27 12:56:30 2004
Yea Tom, it'd be great to catch up with you (and the family!). I'm pretty much free all of the time what with Chie not being around... Although I will be away for some of the weekend.
John
- Thu May 27 10:50:16 2004
It'll do Hawkins. Need to get together soon then don't we? You still haven't seen the little one!!
tom

Thanks Tim and Tom for your sympathies. Not sure if that is the right word, but you know what I mean.
John
- Thu May 27 09:38:30 2004
John, on further reflection, I'm sure it was out of date anyway. Of course, I could have got a new one quite easily if I had the old one to hand in! Still, hopefully no harm done!!!
Rob Lang
- Thu May 27 09:04:45 2004
Well, that prompted a reload. Condolences to Chie and her family John.

Incidentally, did you report losing your passport to the police? When we were burgled in Radstock my passport was stolen, and I was told I had to report it. I think I phoned up or something, but I didn't get a very strong impression they did actually anything about it - I don't think they took any details apart from my name basically. Still, I applied for a new one more or less straight away, and I assume I must have mentioned on the application form that the previous one had been stolen, so maybe they went through the procedure of cancelling the stolen one then...
John
- Wed May 26 12:33:26 2004
So it was just Mark and Iain in the end...?
John
- Wed May 26 11:49:28 2004
I couldn't make it either. I lost my passport before. Such a muppet. Should have checked months ago. All my fault and I am a complete pillock for losing it. Thoroughly sore about missing it. I owe Mark big-time now.
Rob Lang
- Wed May 26 11:35:42 2004
Thanks Rob, will pass that on. Hopefully Mark explained how me and Chie couldn't make the Barcelona trip - it's a shame, I was really looking forward to it! How was it? Any pictures...?
John

Welcome back, John. My sincere condolences to Chie.

I have been out of the country for a while - for those of you that don't already know, Chie's sister died. It has been a very traumatic time as you can imagine. I got back to England last night, Chie will stay in Japan for a few weeks longer at least.
Anyway, hopefully this explains why I haven't been able to attend to the website, and everything has been broken. I've done some fixing, and it looks like the weblog and message board are working properly again now.
John

I have booked the afternoon off work, but my original commitment has now been cancelled. Can anyone offer any suggestions for what I should do...?
John
- Thu May 13 12:29:15 2004
Isn't it amazing that even though I deliberately re-read my posts prior to posting, my brain skips actually reading, and retrieves what it meant (probably from a typing cache somewhere near my wrist).

You can use all their latest .Net stuff for free as well.
Its only the IDE that you pay the license for.
Having used their IDEs for five years now, its surprise how reliant you become on Intelisense. I would be great if word processors could suggest words approapriate to what you were writing... 'about' sir?

John ... your beer-festival pictures are most unusual. Russ appears to have lost some weight, and it seems to have been transferred directly to Dave! Do you suppose that Russ been tutoring him in "The Way of The Dripping" whilst secretly eating salads himself?

I think I'm going to buy the album with hey hey 16k on - I had a look at some of the other songs, and they seemed pretty good too. Better still, the band are from the area where I grew up - apparently their albums are on sale at The Left Legged Pineapple, the shop everyone at my school used to buy records from.

Kev - brilliant site! I watched it about 1/2 an hour ago, and I'm still grinning. I'll probably be singing along for the rest of the week :) I like the goings-on in the background ... like the player typing "fuck" and "bugger" into the Hobbit.

Just had a horrific phone call with one of my managers at work. He's a *really* nice guy and he was calling to find out how everything is going on this job... I didn't want to tell him about me quitting until the Big Boss knows... but I really *did* want to let him know. DILEMMA!

John

We just saw the tail end of it really - a sort of hazy burgandy coloured moon. Still quite nice though. Unfortunately, we were in a restaurant (which was incidentally very nice) not a primitive settlement deep in uncharted jungle, and as such there was no wowing of natives to be done.
John
- Wed May 5 08:52:57 2004
Bugger- I didn't make it to India in time! No mangoes for me! (well, certainly not a free lifetime supply anyway).

tom
- Tue May 4 17:49:43 2004
Well, presumably it depends where you recruit your primitive tribespeople from. If my fruit trivia serves me correctly then I believe the pineapple originates from the West Indies, whereas the mango is indigenous of Burma and North East India.
John

What about mangos? Do I get mangos?
As in the song- It takes two to mango
Jimmy
- Tue May 4 15:49:31 2004
Hey everyone, there's going to be a lunar eclipse / red moon thingy tonight, which ought to look quite nice apparently. I think it starts just before 9 and goes on for an hour or so. For optimal viewing, ensure you're accompanied by some primitive tribespeople, then you can wow them all with how you made the moon change colour, which will undoutedly bestow you with a god-like status, and you'll get free pineapples for life, etc.

The new Morrissey cd is soon to be available in the US. It's currently receiving radio play. Is his song 'Irish Blood, English Heart' at all controversial over yonder? Strikes me as a song that might ruffle some feathers. If you were a bird and offended, that is.
