Tom, as per our conversation, check out: http://www.air-cadets.org/aircadets/index.html and it's Thames Valley Wing you need.

Although the Uni open day sucked shit and died, I must admit I had a really cool working-luncheon with Rowanboy and a good evening at cadets where I got to hang out with the NCOs and talk shit. On top of all that, my mate Iain gave me a lift back to Reading from London. Top! John, I think I will be free Sunday afternoon but scuppered in the evening. If you'd like to go to the open day, that would be cool.

A free doughnut just came my way. Things are improving.

My lunch appears to be consisting solely of biscuits. This is very poor.
John

Sounds annoyinh Rob! May I recommend getting back to the dropship and nuking the site from orbit? It's the only way to be sure.

The bloody University open day has descended on the Department and in typical Cybernetics stylee, the HoD is running around trying to find people to demonstrate stuff. Because the Madlab are generally coniving bastards, they've all taken the day off. I've popped in to upload some stuff but am going to head for the hills at the first opportunity! The department has done sod all for me recently, after my hard years of work so I do not feel bad about leaving it in the lurch.

I wonder... is the art of dying clothes a dying art?
John
- Thu Jun 27 15:55:43 2002

Ah, sorry Rob, perhaps I should have slapped a warning on that page! Nice to hear thigh rubbing is not a dying art though.
John

Actually Tim, it was all an elaborate trick performed using mirrors. Nice to see it paid off!
John

I've just found the pictures of the Gyosei graduation - thigh friction is causing dangerously high temperatures! Ka...... *sigh*

I thank you, I thank you. I suppose this marks the dawn of the third digital age. It's kind of cool to think that, including the Radstock pictures (the analogue age), there's now six whole years of my life - nearly a quarter of it - documented on the web in pictures.

Ladies and Gentlepeeps, the cameraman has returned! All hail John-digital-Hawkins!

In fact, those pictures are on the web now (here). Probably not very interesting to most of you, however, Jon Ellis, that's Jon Ellis, who never looks at any of my pictures, might well want to look at them as there's at least two people other than myself included that he knows very well.
John

It was Michelle's 30th on Saturday. I had one of those bizarre nights where I didn't feel particularly drunk at the time, but had a really evil hangover the next morning, which required a long walk the next day to fix it. I did talk rubbish to a load of random people I didn't really know though, so perhaps I was just a lot more drunk than I realised at the time. I took some pictures actually, with my nouveau foto appareil. I might possibly put them on the web.
John

HI all! The Moot was ok. Not brilliant. It seems that someone in the Dragons pissed off the plot team so there was sod all happening in the Dragon's camp. The only two things of note were only interesting to incantors. Snore. Hopefully the Gathering is better. ;-) How was everyone else weekend type situation?

John

Hmmm I don't know about smart... But I think it's necessary to have a site that groups those resources in one place. The forum has been slow starting but it's starting to gather steam gradually... Superbly, if you send an email to big companies like Kodak asking them about the file format of their digital camera images, they direct you to exif.org. So, in a sense, it is world famous.
John

If you go to CNBC Europe, and follow the link to CNBC Text. That was all generated by my software... It's templated, and therefore I am not responsible for the design! Although it's a long time since I've worked with teletext. Doing DVB stuff nowadays.
John

John, remember you ASCII art converter that would convert nice images into ASCII art. How about a Teletext converter?
