Chie, just before getting onboar the Eurostar at St. Pancras International.

13:49:11
On the Eurostar now just before leaving St. Pancras, with a not-very-glamorous sandwich from Marks and Spencer.

16:57:26
Me on the train doing a bit of a startled rabbit impression - I guess this is somewhere in France (French times from here on!).

18:25:30
After arriving and dropping off our bags at our hotel (next to the Gare de Lyon) we went for a quick early evening stroll along the Seine.

18:38:36
Notre Dame over there in the distance.

19:02:18
There's the rather majestic looking Gare de Lyon.

19:38:01
The Gare de Lyon again, on our way to dinner now.

19:39:27
Le Train Bleu - yes somewhat incongruously we were going to eat at the station buffet.

19:39:36
The sign closer up.

20:04:55
As is hopefully apparent, Le Train Bleu is somewhat more upmarket than your typical station buffet.

20:05:29
Chie in Le Train Bleu. Fittingly the mural behind her is of Villefranche-sur-mer, where we'd be staying a night as part of our trip.

20:10:44
Chie's starter.

20:10:58
My starter - scrambled eggs with black truffle.

20:39:52
Chie's main course - steak tartare.

20:40:01
My main course: "the vegetarian option" (this was utter crap).

21:05:49
It seemed appropriate to have a "Train Bleu" cocktail while I was there. It was not very nice.

21:34:44
Dessert - a profiterole.

21:52:03
One last picture of the superb decor before leaving.

21:53:34
...oh and a picture of the adjoining bar as well.
