Skjolden, the second port of call on the cruise, where we were treated to the one and only day of really nice weather in which to enjoy the spectacular fjord scenery.
Norwegian Fjords Cruise
The rather nice views we were treated to when we woke this morning.
Making coffee on our balcony.
Naturally I got a bit snap happy.
Erika wanted to go to kid's club for a bit in the morning, so Chie and I went for a stroll around the ship.
Oddly "shot a few hoops" amidst the fjords.
...and tried shuffleboard a bit.
Me and the fjord.
Chie and the fjord.
Finally got off the ship for a bit of a stroll around Skjolden.
The ship tucked neatly into a little bay across the fjord.
Chie and Erika on the little pontoon that extended out into the fjord.
More pictures of the ship in the fjord.
I particularly like this one.
I think this was my favourite bit of the whole holiday. There was a little cafe with a deck at the back leading down to the water, where we sat with a beer, a juice, and a waffle, and enjoyed the blue skies and lovely scenery.
Erika using her binoculars.
We sat down here near the tourist information centre for a bit, having a snack.
The water was lovely and clear, and the girls wanted to dip their hands in.
Self timer shot of the three of us, which came out pretty well considering.
Tried to take an arty shot with these flowers in the foreground.
This was the little cafe we'd sit out the back of earlier.
Heading back to the ship now.
...but Erika fell asleep, so I thought it would be nice to have one more beer at the lovely cafe.
Back on the ship, in our cabin now.
Erika having an ice cream out on the deck, with her sunglasses on.
Sunlight glinting across the water.
The gin I bought in Stavanger yesterday, sadly Finnish rather than Norwegian, which is what I really wanted.
Arctic Negroni. I suppose we weren't that far from the arctic circle.
Me on our balcony, I rather like this picture.
Chie got a bit dressed up this evening, as we'd given Erika an early dinner and dropped her off at kid's club, so we could have a grown ups only dinner at one of the alternative dining venues on the ship.
Enjoying the scenery a bit more before dinner (playing with the zoom a bit which explains why these pictures look a bit hazy).
Me and Chie at dinner at the Indian restaurant on board.
Around midnight, and still fairly light.
