Mum's Birthday Party
Saturday 8th October 2022
Drove up to the East Midlands in the afternoon for Mum's birthday party, with afternoon tea on arrival, some nice glimpses of the sun setting over the River Trent (and a good opportunity for family photos!) followed by a barbecue buffet dinner and lots of rose Nyetimber.

In the morning I walked from home to where Erika's Saturday morning Japanese school is held. It's not a bad walk actually, and takes me across the heath plus other green spaces.

11:30:09
The far side of the heath from where I'd normally roam - near Jack Straw's Castle - which has its own different views over London.

On the way up the M1 to the East Midlands now, stopping off for lunch at some Motorway Services or other. Maybe Trowbridge?

On arrival at the Priest House Hotel, the venue for Mum's Birthday Party.

We shared a table with Erika's cousins.

I thought it might be nice to pop out for a bit and see if we could catch any of the sunset over the River Trent.

Me and Adrian.

18:21:06
Rather special to have a photo of me, Adrian, and all our respective offspring.

18:21:14
The lighting was a bit challenging though.

18:21:17
I think this came out nicely though.

Working our way through the Rose Nyetimber.

An arrangement of these little glass (?) beads the girls made.

Too busy chatting later on to take many photos but here's one of all the kids playing Pin the Tail on the Donkey in the hotel lounge later on.
