Sunday in Genoa
Sunday 15th June 2014
Excellent breakfast at our hotel, followed by a morning stroll around Genoa. Lunch at Osteria di Vico Palla, for more Genoese specialities, and then a visit to the famous aquarium in the afternoon. In the evening aperitivo (of sorts) at Cafe Mangini, followed by dinner back at our hotel.

Monday in Sestri Levante

After a very unpleasant train journey from Genoa, we arrived in Sestri Levante (our base for the next two nights) around lunchtime, and spent the rest of the day there.

Got a ferry from the morning from Sestri Levante to the Cinque Terre - taking in Riomaggiore on the way, before arriving in Monterosso al Mare, our base for the next two nights.

Monterosso to Florence via Pisa

Took the train from Monterosso to Pisa, had a few hours in Pisa in the afternoon, then headed on from there to Florence to stay with Lorenzo for our last two nights.

Arrived in Genoa at lunchtime, foccaccia for lunch, followed by an afternoon wandering round Genoa, taking in the Neptune pirate ship. In the evening started with Aperitivo at Caffe degli Specchi then dinner at I Tre Merli, to sample some Genoese specialities.
