Miyajima and New Year's Eve
Sunday 31st December 2017
I took Erika to Miyajima in the afternoon, then spent New Year's Eve in front of the telly with Chie's family.

I added a helipad to the Lego house.

Me and Erika in Fujiya, my favourite place for momijimanju.
Our momijimanju and a cup of tea.
Erika on the beach in Miyajima.
The famous umi-no-tori and the sea.
A deer on the beach.
More shots of the umi-no-tori and the sea.
Trying to get a shot of Erika mid air.
The Itsukushima shrine in the background.
Portrait mode of Erika on the beach.
Erika in Miyajima Aquarium in the place where you can pretend to be under water.
Some New Year displays.
Erika hesitating to put her feet in the pool where the doctor fish were.
I can't say I particularly liked the sensation of having my skin nibbled off.
Erika touching a penguin.
Left the aquarium now, and back past the umi no tori once again.
Stopped off on the way back to the ferry to try the beer from the Miyajima brewery.
Erika had some mikan juice.
...oh and we also went to Fuji-ya for a second momijimanju!
Taken from the train on the way back from Miyajima. Tried to get the sunset but was a bit too slow.
Dinner in the evening - shishito, remarkably similar to padron peppers.
A suspicious looking back of white powder (was in fact just salt).
Veggie kara-age, one of my favourites!
Japanese New Year's Eve TV.
