We had decided to take Erika to Tokyo Disneyland on this trip to Japan, particularly as it tied in with their season of Frozen themed special events, and Erika loves all things Frozen. Unfortunately the weather was really bad, it pissed it down relentlessly all day, and it was a challenge to actually enjoy it.

Me and Erika with the Disneyland castle in the backround - Erika is in a rented buggy, hidden under the rain cover, which we were required to buy for the princely sum of 3500 yen (about twenty quid).

The main highlight of our visit was the Frozen parade - albeit a quicker than normal version, and looking a bit odd as the characters all had rain covers on.

There's Olaf.

I think I accidentally switched on a weird setting on my camera at this point.

Partly just to escape the rain, we decided to go on a couple of the more gentle, old fashioned rides. Here we are on the teacups. Erika doesn't obviously appear to be enjoying herself that much.

10:50:24
I asked if she'd consider smiling a bit, and she did her best.

10:51:54
...this looks like a slightly more natural smile now.

10:59:02
After the teacups we had a go on the carousel, a type of ride Erika is of course very familiar with from London zoo.

The Disney castle again.

11:32:25
Here we are in the wild west themed bit of Disneyland, waiting to get on the paddle steamer. Amazingly there were still people doing kayaking despite the weather. Rather them than me.

11:33:26

There it is.

Erika eventually dozed off, so Chie and I decided to have some lunch. As most of the proper sit down restaurants had long queues (over an hour wait apparently!) we went to the very tired-around-the-edges Plaza restaurant, with what I assumed to be an original 1983 carpet.

14:09:16
After lunch, we decided to just give up on Disneyland and head back to civilsation. Having only eaten some cardboardy fries at Disneyland, I was still hungry, so we stopped off on our return to Tokyo station for ramen at T's Tan Tan.

Later on we popped into an electronics store near our serviced apartment, where they had robot assistants.

17:22:43
I went and did a bit of shopping after we got back from Disney;and and picked up some macarons and a bottle of red wine.

17:22:53
The macarons, from Pierre Herme.

17:23:04
I wanted to try some Japanese wine, but nothing I saw really appealed, so the next best thing was this Lou Dumont Gevrey Chambertin, a winemaker apparently headed by a Japanese man.

19:54:43
I attempted to cook for dinner at our serviced apartment place. With mixed results.
