Went to a farm on Etajima, an island off the cost from Hiroshima, to a pick your own mikan place.
Japan November 2014
Woke up at 4:30 an couldn't get back to sleep so decided to get up and spend some time on the internet. Took this picture whilst trying to sort my camera out which had gone a bit weird.
Breakfast - Chie's Mum's excellent Japanese omelette.
Erika using her chopsticks at breakfast.
Chie's Mum's excellent miso soup.
Harrods biscuits I'd picked up in the airport as a present for Chie. Rather liked the tin.
Erika playing with a tiny Sylvanian Families tea set.
Stopped off here for a quick lunch en route to Ujina, Hiroshima's port.
On the ferry to Etajima.
The three of us on the ferry.
The view back to Hiroshima from the sea.
Glistening blue sea. It was actually quite a nice day for the time of year.
At the pick your own mikan place now. Erika digging into her first of many mikan.
I hadn't quite envisaged there would be such an abundance on each tree/bush.
Lovely views down to the sea.
Note the bits of peel in my hair. Thanks Erika.
Attempt at a self timer shot. A bit too much stone in the foreground.
Close up of Erika.
Green under-ripe mikan. These were excitingly sour.
Erika was determined to help carry the bag, but it was quite heavy by this point.
On the ferry on the way back to Hiroshima now.
Erika giving teddy a piggy back ride back at Chie's parent's place in the evening.
