Jack and Jill in the Snow
Sunday 3rd February 2019
Took Chie and Erika down to the South Downs to see the Jack and Jill windmills in the snow.
London February 2019
The first bit of the walk, from Hassocks to Clayton.
Nearing Clayton, our first glimpse of the hills.
Lunch in the Jack and Jill pub in Clayton.
Erika on the way up the hill to the Jack and Jill windmills. She was very excited about the snow!
Nice views as we got a bit of altitude.
I really like these photos of the view with the girls climbing up the hill, with the remnants of the snow.
Erika nearing the top of the hill where the Jack and Jill windmills are.
Rtika looking excited to be in the snow.
Walking along the South Downs Way now, from the Jack and Jill windmills towards Ditchling Beacon.
Erika enjoying the snow along the way.
Sheep eating these fields full of something like sugar beet...?
Starting to head down now towards Ditchling.
I thought this made for quite a scenic path actually.
Erika on a slightly snowy hillside.
At the bottom of the hill now, this is on Underhill Lane, on the outskirts of Ditchling.
Nice views back up to the snow dusted hills from here.
We passed through a vineyard here.
Finally got to Ditchling proper. I though this old sign post was rather nice.
Back at home later on, Erika throwing nuts at Chie out in the garden wearing a devil mask. It's a tradition on February 3rd in Japan.
