Embarked on a new walking project today - The Ridgeway - starting at Ivinghoe Beacon and hoping to walk all 87 miles over the coming few weeks to arrive at Avebury in time for the Spring Equinox.

On the train to Tring. Quite frosty today!

Passing Berkhamsted.

10:46:00
Took a taxi from Tring station to the foot of Ivinghoe Beacon.

10:46:12
Walking up Ivinghoe Beacon. My chosen path was rather steep and more than a bit slippy thanks to the frost!

10:47:20
Frost.

10:47:24
Some of the way up Ivinghoe Beacon.

10:51:22
...but then I managed to slip over and drop my water bottle, which went rolling most of the way back down the hill again!

10:56:04
Eventually though I made it to the top.

10:56:06
This made for a dramatic and impressive start to my journey along the Ridgeway.

The rest of today's walk didn't have quite the dramatic scenery of the first section around Ivinghoe Beacon, but it was pleasant enough.

More long shadows.

13:01:27
Odd place for a trig point.
