Ox Drove Day Two
Thursday 4th January 2024
The second day of my walk along the Ox Drove - woke up early and was treated to a lovely sunrise as I negotiated the surprisingly muddy track for the remainder of the walk to Shaftesbury.

I woke up before dawn, and it was still dark when I started walking.

Getting light now along this surprisingly muddy track.

Nice skies this morning.

Slightly confusing sign saying “By-way _to_ Ox Drove” - I thought this was the Ox Drove…?

Lots more shots of the sunrise from here on!

Win Green, this is where the Ox Drove ends but I still had a fair bit of walking to do.

Finally at Shaftesbury… Which proved to not be a very useful place to end the walk! I was planning to get a bus from there to Gillingham, but it seemed the next few trains from Gillingham were cancelled.

14:39:47
…so instead I got a bus back to Salisbury, and as I had a bit of a wait for the next train from there to London I decided to poke my nose in at the Haunch of Venison.

14:43:00
Which was rather lovely.

15:18:21
I was perplexed by trains being cancelled due to *forecasted* bad weather.

15:56:48
I did eventually manage to get on a train from Salisbury back to London, and had some of the leftover wine from last night’s camp on the way back.
