Middle Temple and the Savoy
Thursday 27th July 2017
Was meant to go to the Middle Temple Champagne Bar but it wasn't actually there. Instead went to the Tattersall Castle for a bit then the Beuafort Bar at the Savoy.

The entrance to Middle Temple from Fleet Street.

One of the buildings next to Fountain Court in Middle Temple, as I was wandering around trying to find where this supposed outdoor Champagne Bar was.

19:01:22
I was definitely in Fountain Court.

The church in Middle Temple.

The only evidence of the existence of the Champagne Bar was this sign.

19:02:47
I did see some chairs and tables but this wasn't Fountain Court any more, and there was obviously nothing happening here.

Oh well, at least it was an excuse for a wander round Middle Temple, which is very picturesque.

On the way out of Middle Temple - I think this used to be a pub called the Devereux.

19:47:44
In the absence of any Middle Temple Champagne Bar Andrew and I decided as a backup plan to have a much more downmarket drink on the Tattershall Castle, the "floating pub" on the Thames.

I felt a little dissatisfied still though, so on the way back popped into the Savoy, and went to the Beaufort Bar where they had on the menu a Negroni made with 1950s ingredients.
