Birthday Shopping and St. James's
Saturday 1st May 2021
Went into the centre of London in the morning / early afternoon to but birthday presents for Chie. Haven't been into the centre like that for ages, for obvious reasons. While in that neck of the woods I had a quick stroll around St. James's to see if any of my old favourite pubs might be open for outdoor service, but alas not. Later on in the afternoon I took Erika out for an ice cream.

The Red Lion on Duke of York Street. Alas closed still.

While in the area I went to see if anything had happened with my old barbers - Briggs on Ormond Yard. I think it's still being used as extra storage for Paxton and Whitfield, and it seems unlikely it will ever go back to being a barber shop. It was nice to see some of the shop front still there though, including the barber's pole.
