New Camera and Moving into Donnington Road
Tuesday 13th July 1999
The day I bought my first ever digital camera. It was in an electronics shop in Monmouth - probably a Dixons - while I was staying there with Vera. Also Dad drove me and my stuff to Reading in the evening to move into the new shared house I was going to be living in, in Donnington Road.

I don't think I actually took this photo myself, I have a feeling it was already on the camera, presumably having been used to demonstrate to another customer.

12:00:00
So this is likely the first photo I ever took with my own digital camera, in Vera's flat in Monmouth, a photo of a photo of me when I was a boy. Note I hadn't yet set the clock on my camera so all these pictures appear to have been taken at midday.

12:00:00
Vera's pendulum clock and some plates on the wall.

12:00:00
The large bauble which used to hang in Vera's window. I think i was a fairly recent present from Robin.

12:00:00
Some of my Star Wars Lego.

12:00:00
A painting of flowers on Vera's wall.

12:00:00
The waste paper basket.

12:00:00
Some flowers.

12:00:00
The Widecombe Fair picture.

12:00:00
HP Sauce. 67p!

12:00:00
A little jug.

12:00:00
Another photo of a photo, from the summer camp I went on with Tim.

12:00:00
My first ever digital selfie!

12:00:00
Vera's lounge.

12:00:00
More bits of Vera's lounge.

16:32:00
Vera in the lounge, near the front door. Looks like I had finally set the clock by this point, although I'm not sure the times are actually correct, I imagine it would have been much earlier in the day.

16:58:40
My things packed and ready to move into my new place in Reading.

16:58:48

17:01:41
Looks like some toast? A funny time of day to be eating toast!

17:14:57
Vera with a cloth on her head!

17:18:32
I wonder who took this? Dad maybe? Or possibly Vera?

17:25:32
Dad's car ready to take me and my things to Reading.

17:37:40
Dad looking mischievous.

17:39:11
The telly.

17:44:56
Dad at Vera's front door.

17:45:24
Vera by the front door.

18:01:09
In Dad's car, presumably heading down the Wye Valley Road.

18:02:49
Tintern Abbey as we whizzed past.

18:16:30
On the M4 I assume?

18:18:22

18:23:49
Inside Dad's car.

18:57:36
This is apparently The Bakers Arms in Badbury, where I think we may have stopped off for something to eat. Again not sure if the times are accurate here, I suspect this was actually more like lunch time.

19:05:01
Inside the pub, the pub dog came to say hello.

19:57:02
Back on the M4.

20:34:17
Dad giving me a hand with my things in my new room.

21:06:56
Times got out of order here, this should actually have been before the previous picture. Anywho, that's junction 11 on the M4.

21:36:46
My room after my things had been unpacked. I'm writing this in February 2018, not far off two decades later, and I still have that weather house and the same duvet cover.

00:12:10
I don't think I still have any of those other things though!
