Quantock Hills
Wednesday 23rd August 2023
I got the train down to Taunton, for a one night stay in the Quantock Hills. I seemed to hit it at a perfect time of year, with the heather in bloom, and on a day with good weather, and the colours were utterly glorious. A beautiful part of England, I don’t know why I had never been before!

I got a taxi from Taunton to Lydeard Hill (a recommendation of a good place to start the walk from the taxi driver) and as soon as I set foot out of the taxi the views were glorious.

On Beacon Hill now, making dinner - a vegetarian version of Szechuan “beef” with peppers.

…the finished meal. This came out rather well - very intense flavour thanks to the Szechuan peppercorns!
