11:30:51Tried to get some photos from the train as it went along the north coast of Wales.
12:00:49Changing trains at Llandudno Junction.
12:05:50I had a bit of time before the next train at Llandudno Junction so I popped out of the station for a bit to see what I could find in the nearby supermarkets.
13:00:34At Penmaenmawr now.
13:26:08Lots of lambs to see on the way up the mountain!
13:26:19A better photo of a lamb.
13:28:14Sheep with their lambs on the hillside.
13:52:00The views starting to open up as I climbed the mountain.
14:04:48Lovely views but it was a tough climb with a backpack!
14:16:46More or less at the top now.
14:16:55Quite pleased to have that climb behind me!
14:21:36Again, lovely views though.
14:36:33From atop a local peak named Moelfre, the view towards Anglesey.
14:36:59The strange facial expression here can be explained by the fact I was staring into the sun.
15:00:17Lots of wild ponies roaming around here.
15:50:58More rugged Welsh mountain scenery.
16:08:46The first of today's "proper" stone circles (i.e. with stones actually standing up still), which was also being visited by a foal.
16:09:05I rather liked this lesser cousin of the more famous stone circle here.
16:15:34This is now the more famous stone circle in the area, sometimes called the Druid's Stone Circle.
16:16:20It's rather impressive but consequently attracts a lot of visitors.
16:16:22Slightly brooding skies here.
17:02:12More wild ponies.
17:11:48The third "proper" stone circle of the day, this one was tiny.
17:44:30Views out to sea from near the stone circles.
17:57:36I was in that indecisive period I often get around this time of day on these expeditions, so I had a sit down in this spot for a while and just enjoyed the view.
17:59:41Some silly photos with a leek for the video thumbnail.
18:54:33Finally after all the procrastination and messing about I got on with cooking dinner. It was a strange sort of meal - I was hoping to cook something iconically Welsh (Glamorgan sausages perhaps?) but the local supermarkets weren't very good in that regard so instead I cooked some ravioli with (fake) chicken and leeks, the latter being the only tenuously Welsh component.
20:43:31My tent, discreetly set up next to the lesser of the two main stone circles, once I had satisfied myself it was unlikely anyone else was going to walk past that evening.
20:44:04Me and the tent and the stone circle.
20:44:33Same again without the silly snood thing I had put on because it was getting a bit chilly.
20:51:16...and again with the light in the tent making it look rather cosy.
20:52:26Looking out to sea with my lit up tent in the foreground.
20:52:37...an again with Night Sight mode on so it's a bit better lit.
21:07:00Night time views along the North Wales coast. Good night from Penmaenmawr!
