Please, enter my humble "demeure" (residence)...! It's a duplex appartment. Downstairs we have a living room, a nice functional kitchen, a small loggia, a terrace with a view, a desk room + a mezzanine alloted to our TV which, apart from a few DVD's, we no longer watch (a deliberate choice as the cable plug is in the living room), a laundry room and a loo (without a bidet, which is most unfortunate). The desk room (or its mezzanine) could be converterd into a (third) bedroom. Upstairs we have two bedrooms, a bathroom and a walk-in cupboard. You just have to imagine me lolled in my sofa at night, a fire in the chimney, a glass of Savagnin (vin 'jaune') in one hand, a book in the other, while listening to some jazz. Cheers...!

Neo- (or pseudo-) colonial living room with a touch of modernity (table and sofa).

Same angle, slightly different light. As I said, I enjoy sipping wine and reading a good book in the evenings, while listening to some Cab Calloway or some Fats Waller.

Staircase leading to the bedrooms.

An old and genuine African fetiche from southern Zaïre (ex-Belgian Congo).

From a different angle.

same.

Colonial bookcases hosting some of my treasures.

Terrace. I intend to build a pergola.

Path leading to the front door (1st floor), overhanging the 'Galerie'.

The so-called 'Galerie'.

Mon fidèle destrier. My noble steed.

Terrace with a few empty flower pots.

Our living room, by night.

Warm and cosy.

I particularly love dim lights.

A precious relic: my father's train.

Fire in the chimney.

I fancy watching a dying fire.

There is something fascinating about the lecherous way those consuming flames embrace the logs... reducing them to ashes.

A big Chinese vase/jar I fell in love with. Its blue colour adds an exotic touch and offers a nice contrast, enhancing the woodwork.

With sweet-scented lilies growing in it, later to be replaced by some sort of palm tree.
