The Château de la Bâtie from the bridge across the Rhône River.

The same Château from a slightly different angle. You may see a small patch of vineyard on its slope, freshly planted.

The Pilat Plateau delimited in the east by the Rhône River.

Pilat Plateau. Another picture.

And another one...

And again...

Vienne from the Pilat Plateau. One is hardly aware of the Rhône River which runs, along with a busy highway, down the hill. The white building on top of the opposite hill is a hospital. The remains of the Roman theatre (the large grey spot) are visible on the right.

Enlargement.

Between Vienne and Bourgoin (another Gallo-Roman city). The bridge in the far distance was specially designed for the TGV (Train à Grande Vitesse), our high speed train (300 km/h).
