A quiet lazy Sunday
A quiet lazy Sunday. Christelle's grandmother invited me for lunch. We named her Mamou. She's from the south-west of France, the Béarn to be precise, a region well-known for its good, rich cooking. I fancy Mamou's accent as she rolls her 'r's.
In the afternoon I went for a stroll in Vienne and took a few pictures which you will soon be able to see in the relevant area of my space.
The above photography is once again intended for John. We made a deal with a local farmer who grows and sells exclusively organic products. He does home deliveries and brings us once a week a large bag full of seasonal veggies and fruits. All that for the modest sum of 11 euros per bag...!
So John, .............. jealous?

Ah, that looks like very high quality vegetables there, Sheri! Much better than our local supermarket. I am always promising myself to buy more from the farmer's market than I do.
Looking forward to your photos when they are ready!

Well I'm glad to see it's not a gratuitous picture of meat this time!
It looks good though. Not sure what the large leafy items over on the left hand side are... Is it a kind of Swiss chard perhaps? (No doubt called something different in French, like epinards or something).

Just been looking through an atlas with Tim and I decided to find out where Vienne is. Ah! Didn't know you were so far south - near to Italy and Switzerland. And on the Rhone too... Splendid!!! :)
I have a truly abysmal photo of Oswestry that I will post if you don't hurry up and post those pics of Vienne!! That will really show you how bad where I live is!! :)))

John. Swiss chard it is! You got it right!
Nigel. For the pictures of Vienne, you will have to wait a bit. There are a few more monuments I haven't shot yet. As for its geographical position, you could say that Vienne is at the very northern edge of "Southern France".

I feel so pleased with myself that I was able to get it right, and demonstrate my connaitre des legumes. How about some endives next time?

Watch it you might turn gay with the aggravating impediment of having funny fingers (both typical features of Mr. Hawkins....) :D

It's a joke that we always tell John. Beign veggie he was told by the vast majority of the people in the house that he was gay (not true of course), and he has "strange alien-like" fingers, so that was cause of jokes too... In ole Radstock Road (the place where we were living) taking the piss was done more times than breathing...
