A Lady who will remain in my heart

Posted on 2006/12/06 06:45:29 (December 2006).

I believe I made a mistake last night, as I talked about my blog to certain pupils of mine (all adults). It bothers me, because during classes I try to give a picture of myself which doesn't correspond with the real me, that is to say the exuberant Sheri. I didn't communicate the proper name and address of the blog, but I believe all it requires to find it is my name...

In the early morning, there was a storm with formidable lightnings and a pouring rain. It's always enjoyable when witnessed from the warmth of your bed...! I was afraid Brinsley might panick, so I went to join him in his bed, but he was quite all right. He was playing with his doudou (his cuddly rabbit) waiting quietly for the storm to pass. The rain lulled us back to sleep.

Otherwise, Christelle's gone for three days. She's with her parents in Corsica for the funeral of her grandmother who had been sick for years and was now tired of fighting. Apparently she remained lucid till her very last day. I liked her very much cose she was very generous in terms of love and affection. Mamie Lisa was her name. I mean, it was the way we called her. It truly saddens me.

Ah... You have my sympathies, Sheri. Not good news. The world is full of wonderful people - sometimes it is not so obvious to us during our day-to-day existence. Christelle's grandmother will live on in your minds - and I am sure all minds are but one in the end...

Don't worry about telling your pupils about the Maison (although you can quickly rush some editing it it worries you!!). They will probably not check anyway... Or if they do, they will just see some great photos. Remember, their English is not so good!! :)))

Thanks for your kind words, Nigel. Christelle will appreciate, no doubt.

Just reassure me: "will remain in my heart" is correct ? I mean, can you say that in English?

Sorry for the loss Sheri...

As for the blog, I am sure that you cannot compromise your reputation more than it is already just by getting them to read the blog! :D

I'd love to have an english class to teach to and to point my blog as a compulsory reading!

Sheri: Yes, the phrase you quote is absolutely fine.

Sorry to hear the sad news Sheri, but it is good to hear at least that this lady will be remembered fondly.

Thanks to you all, guys. Christelle just came back from Corsica. She was touched (as I was) by your comments.

Sheri: What sort of class are you teaching? I've actually removed traces of parts of my life from the Web when I thought that students had stumbled on to it. It's unfortunate, but it may be appropriate at times.

Travis: mature adults. So it's ok. They're not the kind of people that keep surfing on the net.
