Los Angeles Lakers SCOFF Ratings (Through 24 games)Posted on 2006/12/18 20:34:17 (December 2006). The Lakers stand at 16 wins, 8 losses through 24. Who has been the most effective scorers? The top man should suprise almost no one, but other solid performers might.
Kobe Bryant's SCOFF (Scoring Effeciency) rating is at a team best 6.9 as he has put up two amazing games in the Lakers' last two (one a Win, one a Loss). Without Lamar Odom, Kobe will likely see an increased burden. By comparison, Kobe's SCOFF during his record-setting season last year was 7.2. So Kobe is not far off pace.
Lamar Odom and Ronny Turiaf come in at a 5.88 and 5.82 respectively. Odom is not much of a surprise. He is averaging a career best 17.5 points per game, but is on the shelf with a knee injury for the next few weeks. Ronny Turiaf, the seldom-played second year man, is a great energy player who does his job when he gets into the game. Many fans (myself included) are unsure of why he does not see more Playing Time.
Andrew Bynum and Bryan Cook are the only other players whose SCOFF exceeds 5.5 The big Bynum is a force uderneath (5.58) and Cook has arguably the best shot on the team (5.53).
The least efficient scorer on the team is Shammond Williams (2.71) followed by the suddenly useless Sasha Vujacic (4.5). The biggest problem? Both players are Point Guards. LA struggles to get production from this position as is, and these backups aren't helping.
The rest?
Luke Walton 5.46
Vlad Radmanovic 5.39 (I saw this guy hit nearly every shot he took in warmups recently)
Mo Evans 5.19
Jordan Farmar 5.13
Smush Parker 5.11
Kwame Brown 5.10
LA's team SCOFF is 5.65. I don't yet have the league average.
