Vegetarian Beer - Sam Smith'sPosted on 2008/07/15 17:35:19 (July 2008). Like wine, beer is quite infrequently labelled as to whether or not it is suitable for vegetarians, particularly in pubs.
One notable exception to this is Sam Smith's (who own a lot of pubs here in London). I noted last night their Alpine Lager (affectionately known as "man-in-a-box") has a vegan symbol on the pump. In fact, according to the wikipedia article, all of their beers are vegan.
So I am happy to make an entirely unashamed plug for this great brewery - made even better still by their extremely reasonable prices, and, at least in London, the fabulous old pubs they tend to inhabit.
Keep up the good work Sam Smith's!
