Went to visit Erika's Great Grandmother in the afternoon, and Erika had a go on the suberidai (the Japanese word for slide).

Me and Erika. I'm still in my pyjamas and wearing the "oni wa soto" mask - earlier this week it was the date for a Japanese tradition which involves throwing beans. Or something. Note the winter Olypmics theme.

Chie and Erika testing the theory that two people could fit in the pair of trousers Chie's parents had bought for me for lolling about in the flat.

Snowy outside!

Erika.

13:27:50
Lunch - ramen with fried tofu and cabbage.

14:16:21
Getting up to date on my laundry after my week in Tokyo. It was very satisfying to give the tweed suit a good airing after all the smoke filled bars in Tokyo.

14:30:41
Erika asleep in her buggy.

15:45:46
At Erika's Great Grandma's house - she'd borrowed a slide for her to play on.

15:45:50
It may not come across in the pictures but Erika rather enjoyed this.

She also liked the sliding doors.

16:24:17
Origami spinning tops made by Erika's Great Grandmother.

16:29:36
In the garden, I really liked the multi-coloured leaves here.

Tea time!

16:35:37
Here's all the family around the kotatsu - the table with a blanket on top and a heater underneath.

18:06:29
Sunset over Hiroshima.

19:16:51
Fried vegetarian cutlets in the evening!

19:31:38
And gobo sticks.
