Slep until 2pm thanks to jetlag. Went out for a late lunch in Aoyama, followed by a wander back to the hotel through some windy backstreets. In the evening we went out again, for dinner overlooking Tokyo station with some of Chie's friends.

Was treated to wonderfully clear skies this morning, and ate breakfast with a view of Mt. Fuji. In the evening went for cocktails at Gen Yamamoto with Andy, then Savoy pizza again.

Went to stay at the Daikanso Onsen Hotel on Yashiro Island tonight. Took rather a long time to get there thanks to a broken down car on a level crossing, thus the number of pictures on the train while we were trying to kill time.

Miyajima

On the way back from Yashiro Island we stopped off for a brief visit to Miyajima to see Erika's other Great Grandmother, and while we were there popped into Miyajima Coffee, and also had the obligatory momiji-manju.

Last Day in Japan

Last full day of this trip - got the shinaksen to Hiroshima through a snowy Japan. In the evening met Tanaka-san and Yuka-chan at our hotel - the Okura - and went for drinks at Bar Highlander, followed by dinner at a macrobiotic restaurant called Chaya.

Landed at Narita in the morning, got the Narita Express to Tokyo. Had lunch with Yuka in Roppongi, then a jetlag nap in the afternoon, then beer and pizza with Andy in our hotel room in the evening.
