Jungle Exploration
Thursday 30th April 2020
I took some time out of work this morning to take Erika to the heath, as she'd been cooped up indoors the past few days and I thought she needed some fresh air an exercise. We had a lovely time of it exploring a particularly dense and jungley bit of it.

On the way to the heath, that blue tree again.

10:18:45
Part way up Parliament Hill.

10:22:42
Still not quite sure what this blossom is - something like wild cherry / hawthorn / blackthorn but not quite.

10:24:57
Erika atop Parliament Hill.

10:25:09
The view down into central London. Nice clouds.

10:25:37

10:27:11
In the den building area, a den Erika and her classmates had previously worked on a couple of months back.

10:29:16
Bit out of focus but I think these are going to be blackberries?

10:30:06
An attractive blossom.

10:38:32
Exploring the jungley bit with Erika. There are some surprisingly dense thickets on the heath with little windy paths going through them, and this was a real mini adventure.

10:40:41

10:43:30
Is this wood ear fungus?

10:45:24
A bit like forget met nots, but too tall...?

10:47:13
The view after emerging from the jungle.

10:49:30
Erika on the plains of Parliament Hill.

11:01:26
Erika made a little bouquet to take home to Chie.

11:01:54
Dandelions.

13:25:33
Back at home, later on, another wine delivery arrived - including a couple of bottles of the really weird and unique Monnow Valley Brut (2004!) which I'd tried at the Welsh sparkling wine tasting I organised last summer...

18:50:27
...and also some interesting Burgundy.

19:02:15
A glass of the Nuit St Georges out in the garden. A very mixed weather day, but quite pleasant between the heavy showers.

19:05:58

19:09:37
Blueberries starting to form!

20:54:58
Attempted to take a picture of the moon later on.

20:55:58
Just about worked after much fiddling with camera settings, but not really amazing.

21:05:51
I quite liked the light shining through the vine leaves here.
