Took delivery of some more camping / outdoorsy equipment today: some gaiters, a lightweight bivvy bag, a piezo lighter and some titanium tent pegs.

A parcel from Alpkit which arrived today - looked more like takeaway food packaging than camping equipment.

The items I purchased from Alpkit - some gaiters (hoping in combination with my new walking boots I can finally solve the problem of wet feet from morning dew on day two of two day hikes), a new lighter weight bivvy bag, a piezo lighter, and some titanium tent pegs.

Tried out the new bivvy bag - the "Kloke" from Alpkit. It's a bit better than the previous one because it's lighter weight (285g vs 500g), more compact and a more stealthy colour.

My "winter" camping gear: sleeping bag, mat, bivvy bag and pillow. Pretty much all I need for sleeping outdoors - no tent required - with the sleeping bag having a comfort rating of 0 degrees, or a low rating of -5. In total this comes to about 2kg, and would just about fit in a supermarket carrier bag.

The summer version, with my lightweight quilt, which comes to around 1.3kg.

Trying on the gaiters.
