Heath and Sharpening
Thursday 21st January 2021
Early evening stroll to the heath in the hope of finding some flowers to brighten up my mood, once again only found gorse. A Japanese whetstone arrived today and I had a go at sharpening my bushcraft knife later on.

Erika came to do her home schooling with me in the "office" (the tiny back bedroom) for a bit this afternoon, to give Chie a rest.

Gorse, again the only thing I could find flowering on the heath.

The sharpening related items which arrived today - a combination 1000 / 6000 grit Japanese whetstone, a nagura (?) stone for smoothing the whetstone, and a second bushcraft knife made my Morakniv - a much cheaper version of the first one I got for comparison.

The two knives - the very cheap Mora Companion, and the not so cheap Mora Garberg. The Companion was fairly sharp straight out of the box. The much more expensive Garberg was not for some reason.
