Took Brix readings to test the level of sugar in the grapes on the vines in the garden with my refractometer today. Later on a stroll to Hampstead Heath.
London September 2020
Here I am looking through the refractometer.
...and here again.
Brix reading for the Cabernet Sauvignon.
Brix for the Pinot Blanc.
Brix for the Semillon.
My refractometer setup.
The Cabernet Sauvignon grapes.
These are the Pinot Blanc - maybe too many cluster on this vine for them to ripen properly?
Some epsom salt to address the magnesium deficiency in the Cabernet Sauvignon.
I did some pruning to stop the bunches getting overshadowed by leaves and thought it would be nice to take a couple of pictures of as much of the "vineyard" as could get into one shot.
Erika doing some dusting with a paintbrush (?!) around the front window.
Off to Hampstead Heath for a stroll.
Usual bandstand photo.
Some sort of fungus at the foot of this tree.
I brought along a crisp refreshing can of beer.
The London skyline through the trees.
A mushroom. Not sure what this is but presumably not edible - there were quite a few of these around.
The bandstand again.
They were setting up bunting on Lady Somerset Road for their annual street party.
My recently acquired case of Gevrey Chambertin.
Had a glass or two of this with dinner.
