Thursday 13th October 2005 - Steaming Cold

Posted on 2005/10/13 20:50:38 (October 2005).

Nothing special to report. Received a mail from my boss who was praising my "refound will to collaborate"... I don't know where he got that, but it should be enough to get him off my back for a while.
What really took all of my attention was the bloody cold that Marta passed me.
I am feeling as if a lorry just drove over me, then as if someone put me 100 Kilometers under water where all sounds are strange and dumb... Oh well, let's hope it goes away, I have been taking these omeopathic pills, first time in my life.
Marta says they work so I thought I'd give it a go, tomorrow I should feel better.
Bought a nice steamer yesterday, we have been cooking for the last two days with it, it's MARVELLOUS. Vegetables actually taste as proper vegetables, all the leftover water can be used to make sauces and soups, it's great.
I'll post some recipes soon!

Steam an artichoke!

You won't regret it!

You want a nice fresh globe artichoke (I'm guessing the Italian is something like carciofi del mondo). Steam for half an hour or so (yes I know it sounds like ages, but they're the size of small footballs and very tough!), then just tear of the leaves and enjoy the little morsel at the end of each dipped in vinaigrette (important that it contains wholegrain mustard).

Hi Lox, this is my first post on your blog!
I'm quite skeptical about omeopathy, what can you tell me about your first experience with it? Did the pills work on you or do you think it was only a placebo? Anyway I hope you recover soon :-)

Ciao Fede!!! I am glad that you made it to the site, I have also set up the rss feed so that it should be easier to see when I made new posts. As for omeopathy I have a mixed opinion, last year I got no cold at all during the course, when I stopped in 2 months I got it twice... This year I have had a crap Friday an Saturday, but it hasn't been as strong as other times... I guess that there is something good to thisa kind of medicine, and I am certainly going to continue, at least for another year...

Thank you for the rss feed, I immediately added it to my other feeds. As far as the omeopathy is concerned I think you'll be a perfect test specimen, I'll monitor the effect on you ;-)
