Cheese Released to the World

Posted on 2007/05/13 11:01:38 (May 2007).

[Tuesday 8th May]
The long weekend's marathon of nerdiness overspilled into today as well, and I spent the evening making a web page and so on for the first release of Cheese. It had become a bit of an obsession recently, but now that I've actually got it to the point of a release I think I can ease off for a bit.

Thanks very much for the sample from the cheeseboard John! Great work so far. It's a Universal app (splendid!) and it's stable! Much appreciated.

Oh great - you're actually using it! I hadn't heard anything from anyone so wasn't really sure if anyone had actually given it a go... You may be the first (well, second if you count me) user!

Is your Mac (or one of them?) a Power PC then Nigel? I only have Intels here, so haven't been able to test if it actually works on the other chipset or not...

...oh and did you download 1.0 or 1.0.1... the later one renders images a bit better.

Comment 5

It was 1.0.1 I downloaded (I always like to be up-to-speed with the latest!).

My iMac is Intel (annoyingly I only have the one Mac at present...). I'd never thought about PPC compatibility, just selfishly glad it was Intel compat! I have a few apps which are PPC-only and of course they are a bit "clunky" and slow.

Yeah, the images look fine! In my slow Maison blog rebuild I've put up the Pictures folder again but admit to nipping into Parallels and XP, then using PhotoStudio to comment and create the index! I then thought, what am I doing? Get some Cheese!

No problems with it at all so far. :))

Actually I'm rather "Chuffed" (although perhaps "Honoured" is a better word!) to be an "early adopter" of Cheese! I don't think this has happened to me before - well, except those Hello World programmes I've written myself!
